Each year the NDAEA Awards Program offers the opportunity to nominate outstanding North Dakota Art Educators in all divisions and regions. NAEA then recognizes awardees from each state at the annual conference. The purpose of the Art Educator of the Year Award is to honor an exceptional ND art educator for service and contributions to the field of art education in recognition of their dedication, innovative teaching methods, and profound impact on the artistic growth of learners.

Who May Nominate?

Members, advocates, school administrators, fellow teachers; anyone interested in supporting art education!

Eligibility:

Any Art Educator in North Dakota is eligible for NDAEA's Art Educator of the Year Award.

Winners also become nominees for the NAEA Art Educator of the Year Award if they have NDAEA membership; however, if nominated and not a current member, the nominee can start or renew membership to be considered for the national award. One registration grants dual membership at the state & national level.

Award Selection:

NDAEA Board Members vote on nominees over the summer.

Award Presentations:

One winner is selected each year to receive this prestigious award. A letter to administration will be mailed. Awards will be presented at the annual National Art Education Convention in March. Please make arrangements with your administration to attend. Room and board are not provided.e
