Enroll in an NDAEA professional development course for training on topics relevent to art teachers. Each course is connected to Continuing Education at the University of North Dakota, with an opportunity for credit through the university.
NDAEA Artist Series: Volume 1

COURSE DETAILS
NDAEA ARTIST SERIES: VOLUME ONE features recorded discussions with three artists on the topics of illustration & literacy, equity & inclusion, and care for ourselves. In this class, you will watch three recordings, then spend time reflecting on the topic through related assignments. The featured artists are:
NANCY CARLSON guides participants through character design and development, teaching you tips and tricks from her career as a celebrated author and illustrator.
LIBYA DOMAN assists educators in thinking about inclusivity in the classroom and shares thoughtful and effective strategies for having tough conversations with students, parents and administrators.
ARTIST NICHOLE RAE helps participants reflect on their self care practices and offers practical exercises to grow them.
Talking SHOP Series:
Volume 2

Course Dates: 2nd Tuesday of every month, September through March from 7-8 pm (you choose which 5 of the 7 sessions you will attend)

COURSE DETAILS
Talking Shop is a virtual series of monthly Google Meets sessions focusing on topics within Art Education. This course provides North Dakota art educators with an opportunity to engage in conversations, share experiences, and learn from each other's diverse perspectives. Participants will explore various areas of interest and concern in Art Education, such as building art clubs, addressing sensitive topics, managing behaviors in the art room, rethinking lesson plans, building art programs, exploring tried and true practices, and personal artistic development. To receive course credit, you must attend 5 of the live sessions and complete a reflection on each of the topics.

COURSE DETAILS
This self paced, three credit graduate level professional development course through UND will take teachers on an Educational Art Virtual Tour of Italy. All teachers are welcome--not just Art teachers. This course inludes a book study, reflection, project and artist statement. Virtual tours will inspire teachers to create an original, Italian inspired work of art. The experience will add to professional learning and will improve classroom practice. WARNING: this class may inspire you to visit Italy!
